On 24 October, the New York supply chain Conference held an event on the theme of "secure supply chain".     Supply chain security is a topic I mentioned in this column last week: will car companies first introduce blockchains into real supply chains?     I have been interested in the investment theme of cyber security since 2011.     Out of this interest, I found two early investments in cybersecurity from my former employer-Fireblade (2013) and Virgil Security (2016, as well as Zimperium (2013), chain (2015), NS8 (2016) and RunSafe Security (2017).

My operational assumption for cybersecurity is that as more and more of the world's property is digitized or fully digitized, there will be a growing need to protect it from theft and other destructive or fraudulent acts.

As the network physical systems I mentioned in this column last week become more common, the need to protect autonomous supply chains will become more urgent.     In this article, I will write about some of the experiences I have learned at this conference.

Fiji and the Marshall Islands launched the Pacific Blue Shipping Partnership at the UN climate action summit in New York yesterday.     (Pacific Blue Shipping Partnership), is determined to decarbonize shipping in as many as eight small Pacific island countries.

The initiative calls for a $500 million investment in mixed climate finance to promote decarbonization of domestic shipping in six to eight Pacific small island countries on a scale that meets the micro needs of those countries.
